https://ift.tt/2LNZmBO  'If I want, I'll remain in the senate forever' -EkweremaduDeputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, has said he could remain in the senate for the rest of his life if he so wishes saying he's always in touch with his constituents, and could easily win elections.   He spoke on Thursday at Sheraton Hotel at a public dialogue organised by the #NotTooYoungToRun movement, a youth group that successfully lobbied for the passage of a new law that reduced the age of qualification for political office across the country.   “I’m in total touch with my people and that is why if I want to remain in senate forever, I will” Ekweremadu told young aspirants on the platform of PDP.  “PDP is not a home for urban politicians, for young people. If you want to participate in politics, you have to pay your dues and the best place to pay your dues is your local community. That is where we all started from. The Undertaker came out of retirement to face John Cena at WrestleMania 34 on Sunday night, 370 days after he appeared to call time on his WWE career, but his triumphant return did not come without its controversy.
Having been trashed by 16-time world champion Cena in recent weeks as he attempted to earn a fight at the Granddaddy of them All against the Deadman, The Undertaker made a surprising return to confront Cena midway through Sunday night’s event.
Barely landing a punch, Cena was crushed. The Phenom emptied his playbook – first there was Old School, followed by Snake Eyes, a big boot and leg drop. Then came the Chokeslam and, finally, a Tombstone. Undertaker pinned Cena, the three count came and went and everyone was left stunned that one of the most dominant wrestlers in WWE history had been legitimately beaten inside three minutes.

Meet Purity, a baby girl allegedly dumped by the road side by her mother, Ruth.
About three hours after being dumped on a quiet road in Kabwe, Purity was rescued by passersby returning from the farm.
The note her mother left behind reads:
 “I have reached a point where I have to abandon my daughter. I have not received any support from the father or family. I am a poor person and I hope a good Samaritan will adopt her. Her name is Purity. God bless you.”
An online source said it is likely that Ruth was watching her daughter from a far as a lady was spotted running away from the same location the moment Purity was rescued.
This lovely girl is so beautiful… Hope she falls into good hands.

President Buhari salutes two security officers who found and returned bags filled with US Dollars at Lagos airport
President Buhari today called on Nigerians to emulate two security men who returned a handbag filled with valuables forgotten at the Murtala Muhammed Airport by an American returnee, saying such conduct reflects the new Nigeria that we all desire.

A Lagos-based medical doctor, Banji Oyegbami, had met a family returning from America at the airport on August 18, 2018. In the process of loading their luggage into the car of their host, the handbag of the returnee's wife fell, unknown to anyone.

It was not till 90 minutes later that a security officer on duty at the airport, called the couple, to come for the retrieved bag.

When the bag was eventually collected, the contents, including a handsome amount of American dollars, phone, wrist watch, and other valuables were intact. The grateful couple offered a generous gift, but Messrs Francis Emepueaku and Achi Daniel, declined, saying they were merely doing their duties.

In a statement released by his media aide, Femi Adesina, President Buhari said 


"Honesty remains the best policy. We must exhibit such behaviour in whatever position we find ourselves, whether high or low. The security men could have chosen to behave differently, following the self-serving principle of 'if you can't beat them, join them.' But they have chosen to be examples of good, honest Nigerians. I commend their conduct to the rest of the country."

The President urges Nigerians to bring out the best in themselves at all times, noting that with such minds, they can never be hoodwinked again by those who seek power for selfish and dubious reasons, and return the country to an inglorious past.


"Nigeria will no longer be a byword for corruption and plundering of public resources. That is the path we have chosen to take, and our country will eventually get to a new shore," President Buhari affirms.
